Separate the SIM format from the route
An eSIM describes how a profile is installed. It does not by itself tell you where traffic exits the network or how a provider handles blocked services.
Some providers advertise international routing or app access for selected regional plans. Record the exact product name and source page before you buy.
Ask four questions before checkout
If a key answer is missing, keep a second connection option or choose a plan with clearer terms.
- Is the claim attached to the China plan, not only the global brand?
- Does the plan list a fair-use, speed or app-access limitation?
- Does the provider explain whether hotspot traffic follows the same route?
- What is the support path if the advertised behavior changes after activation?
