Installation sequence

  1. Save the order email and instructions.

    Keep the QR code or manual activation details available on another screen or offline.

  2. Add the eSIM profile.

    On iPhone, use Settings → Cellular → Add eSIM. On Android, the wording is usually under SIMs, SIM Manager, or Network & internet.

  3. Label the line clearly.

    Use a name such as “China travel” so you do not confuse it with your home line.

  4. Choose the travel eSIM for cellular data.

    Turn off automatic cellular-data switching if it could send data through the home line.

  5. Wait to turn on the line when required.

    If the provider says validity starts on destination connection, leave the line off until arrival.

Enable data roaming for that line if the provider requires it.

Wait for network registration, then restart or toggle Airplane Mode once if needed.

Should I install my China eSIM before flying?

Usually, yes. Installation needs a reliable internet connection. First check whether the package starts validity at installation or only when it connects at the destination.

Is installation the same as activation?

Not always. Installation adds the eSIM profile to the phone. Package validity may begin at installation or when the eSIM first connects to a supported network, depending on the provider.

Should I delete the eSIM if it does not connect immediately?

No. Do not delete it unless the provider tells you to. Many profiles cannot be installed again from the same QR code.

Should data roaming be on?

Many travel eSIMs require data roaming on for the travel line. Follow the exact provider instructions and keep roaming off for the home line unless you accept its charges.
