Save the airport, hotel and first meeting point. Include the Chinese name, street address and a screenshot so you can show it without searching again.
Download the apps you already understand, then identify a local transit source for metro exits, station names and current route details.
Use two sources when timing matters
A familiar map is useful for the big picture; local sources can be better for current transit and place names. If the two disagree, check the address and the last updated route before leaving.
For a train, flight or appointment, leave extra time for a route that requires a transfer or a long station walk.
